Irbid governor orders arrest of five produce retailers for price inflation

AMMAN — Irbid Governor Radwan Utoum on Thursday ordered the arrest of five retailers of vegetables and fruits for exceeding specified price limits, stressing that “no tolerance” will be shown to retailers who manipulate the prices of commodities, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Utoum also decided to detain the head of a local council in the Northern Aghwar district for 14 days in the Qafqafa Correctional and Rehabilitation Centre for selling bread to citizens at prices exceeding the specified price.
