AMMAN — The Lower House Palestine Committee on Sunday condemned the dangerous violations and provocations made by Israeli settlers during their raid on Al Aqsa Mosque/Al Haram Al Sharif in which Jerusalem Awqaf employees and guards of the mosque were arrested.

Head of the committee MP Mohammad Thahrawi said that breaking into the mosque under the protection of Israeli forces is a provocation of the religious beliefs of all Muslims and contributes to more violence and extremism in the region and the world, threatening international peace and stability, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Thahrawi also referred to the Kingdom’s unaltered position in defending the Palestinian cause, with a specific focus on the protection of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

Meanwhile, the panel also deplored the two crimes that Israeli forces perpetrated in Jerusalem and Jenin, which resulted in the death of five Palestinians.
