AMMAN — The Health Ministry on Wednesday decided to open clinics at the Kingdom's care homes for the elderly, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Health Minister Mahmoud Sheyyab said the decision comes after Royal directives and instructions from the premier to make healthcare services available to senior citizens at care homes.

Doctors will treat patients at these centres, and the prescribed medicine will be made available free of charge from the nearest hospital or medical centre, the minister added, noting that the homes will be provided with doctors, nurses, nutritionists, psychiatrists and social workers. There are 10 homes for the elderly in Jordan.
