Gendarmerie honours fallen heroes of Karamah

AMMAN — Gendarmerie Department on Thursday honoured the families of soldiers who died in the battle of Karamah during a ceremony to mark its 49th anniversary, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The celebration included the honouring of the soldiers’ families, naming several halls and department buildings after them, in addition to unveiling the monument honouring the gendarmerie’s security personnel who died in the line of duty, inside the department’s main building.
Gendarmerie Department Director Maj. Gen. Hussein Hawatmeh commended the sacrifices of security personnel in defending the country. The families expressed their pride in the sacrifices of their children for the country.
