Freihat inaugurates Joint Jordan-US Military Committee meeting

AMMAN — Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat on Monday inaugurated the opening session of the Joint Jordan-US Military Committee’s 39th meeting, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During the session attended by HRH Prince Feisal, Freihat highlighted the importance of the meetings for joint cooperation and thanked the US Congress, people and administration for the support given to the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army in fighting “the powers of evil”.
For his part, US Assistant Secretary of Defence for International Security Affairs Kenneth Handelman voiced the US’ commitment to supporting security and stability in Jordan and that the Joint Jordan-US Military Committee is a key factor for partnership between the two countries. The meetings aim at boosting joint cooperation between the armies of both countries, Petra reported.
