Foreign Ministry slams Israel’s annexation plans

AMMAN — The Foreign Ministry condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statements regarding his intention to impose Israeli authority over the Galilee region and the Kiryat Arba settlement.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Sufian Qudah said such statements are an outrageous violation of international law and legislative decisions, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

Qudah called on the international community and the UN Security Council to take measures that would prevent the implementation of the aforementioned announcement and ensure Israel abides by international law and relevant UN decisions.

He warned that such a move would destroy any chance for peace on the basis of a two-state solution and cause further violence in the region.
