AMMAN — Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Thursday discussed with High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell the latest developments and impacts of the coronavirus, along with measures to unify efforts to contain the pandemic.

During a telephone call, Safadi and Borrell reviewed the repercussions of the virus on Jordan's economy, as Safadi voiced the Kingdom's appreciation to the EU for its continuous support, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Friday.

For his part, Borrell voiced the EU’s support to the Kingdom in addressing the pandemic, commending Jordan's efforts in helping European citizens who were stranded in Jordan after flights were cancelled and airports closed in the Kingdom earlier in March.
