AMMAN — Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Kharabsheh emphasised the importance of supporting the mining sector, optimising natural resources and attracting investments on Tuesday. During his visit to the Jordan Geologists Association (JGA) headquarters, Kharabsheh said that Jordan is rich in natural resources.

He called for advancing cooperation between the ministry and the JGA, channelling their efforts to optimise the national wealth and expressing the ministry’s readiness to ease all measures that could enhance investments in the mining sector.

He also lauded the association’s efforts to protect workers in the sector, according to a ministry statement.

JGA President Sakher Nsour stressed the need to create a special body for natural resources in the Kingdom. He reviewed the challenges facing the JGA, which serves 5,600 geologists.
