Cabinet paves way for people with disabilities to get gov’t jobs

AMMAN — The Cabinet on Tuesday exempted 176 people with disabilities who have applied for employment since 2008 from regular recruitment requirements in preparation for their appointment in a number of government departments and institutions.
The decision comes in light of the health, economic and social conditions experienced by people with disabilities, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The Cabinet also decided to grant private buses that transport students, which are ready to be replaced, registered or licensed, full tax and customs exemptions effective from the date of the Cabinet’s decision on January 22, until December 31, and for one time only.
The decision aims to modernise the fleet of student buses, increase the efficiency of the buses operating in the field and improve the level of safety on the roads, Petra reported.
The Cabinet also decided to grant tourist buses, currently operating and ready to be replaced, registered or licensed, full tax and customs exemptions effective from the date of the Cabinet’s decision on January 22 until December 31, and for one time only.
The decision aims to modernise the tourist transport fleet, improve the level of services provided to tourists, increase the efficiency of buses operating in the sector and improve the level of road safety, according to Petra.
