Cabinet exempts 70-year-olds from health insurance fees

By JT - Feb 01,2017 - Last updated at Feb 01,2017

AMMAN — The Cabinet on Wednesday decided to exempt health insurance subscribers who are 70 and older from the JD150 annual subscription fees, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The fees, JD72 of which used to be paid by subscribers, will be covered in total by the Treasury. Last year, the government decided to exempt 80-year-old subscribers from health insurance premium costs.

This year, it exempted those who are 70 and older, and next year, it will include people 60 years old and over to eventually provide free health insurance to all age segments, Petra said.
