Bulgarian president, first lady visit Petra

AMMAN — Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, his wife and their accompanying delegation on Monday visited the city of Petra and multiple touristic, historical sites in the rose red city, and were briefed by the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority’s acting president Suleiman Farajat on the city’s many attractions.

During the tour, Farajat underlined the city’s historical and heritage value as one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and the authority’s efforts to improve tourist services.

For his part, Radev expressed his pleasure with the visit, calling it a “historic opportunity” to view the famed wonder that is Petra. Petra saw the highest influx of visitors in 2010, at some 975,000 visitors, with around 820,000 tourists visiting in 2018, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
