Authorities arrest 29 charged with possession of drugs, firearms

AMMAN — The Anti-Narcotics Department executed several raids and inspections to arrest abusers and traffickers, leading to the arrest of 29 people, the department spokesperson said on Wednesday.
The detainees were found in possession of quantities of illicit drugs and firearms, according to the statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Seven were arrested in a raid in Balqa Governorate in possession of 30,000 narcotic pills in addition to other drugs, arms and ammunition.
In another raid in Balqa, two were arrested for the same charges, while 12 were in Amman, found in possession of drugs and five firearms.
