Australian defence minister meets army chief, visits centre for veterans

AMMAN — Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti and Australian Minister for Defence and Veterans’ Affairs Darren Chester on Thursday discussed the latest regional and international developments, as well as prospects of joint military cooperation and coordination.
Talks also covered means of boosting bilateral ties to serve the interests of the two countries’ armed forces, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Also on Wednesday, Chester visited the Hashemite Commission for Disabled Soldiers (HCDS) to have a firsthand look at the Kingdom’s expertise in the field. HCDS Board Member Yassin Khayyat briefed the Australian minister on the nature of the commission’s work and its main duties.
Chester and the accompanying delegates expressed their admiration for the commission’s advanced level, Petra added.
