Army chief checks progress on General Command HQ construction

AMMAN — Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti on Monday stressed that the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) will continue the development and modernisation of various units, adhering to international architectural standards. Huneiti made the remarks while checking on the project of the new headquarters of the General Command, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. During a visit to the site, the army chief was briefed on the work progress and the coming phases of the plan, commending the efforts and professionalism in implementing the project. The project is established, in accordance with the advanced architecture principles and standards, on a 300-dunum plot of land in Yajouz, for a group of buildings with an area of 83,000 square metres, which meet the functional requirements of the General Command staff.
