Samer Kheir, the Greater Amman Municipality’s (GAM) cultural department director, received the award from UNESCO Assistant Director General for Education Qian Tang during the second conference of “learning cities” held last week with the participation of 85 countries, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Amman won the award alongside 11 cities, out of 1,000 cities classified as “learning cities”. The capital received this award for the project implemented between GAM and the Arab Thought Forum aimed to transform Amman into a “learning city”.
