AMMAN — Jordan Aircraft Maintenance Limited (JORAMCO) on Thursday launched the "Soar into your future" initiative for young Jordanians who are passionate about training in aircraft maintenance at the Joramco Academy.

The training includes 25 scholarships that lead to employment at a total cost of up to JD1 million.

JORAMCO CEO Jeff Wilkinson said in an interview with the Jordan News Agency, Petra, that the initiative provides scholarship beneficiaries with vocational training over a period of four years, including a theory course for two years and practical training for another two years.

He noted that the trainees will graduate as qualified, locally and internationally licensed aircraft maintenance technicians after passing the exam at the end of training, adding that the company will employ graduates who have successfully completed the training.

The initiative, according to Wilkinson, reflects the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah to support young people, create jobs and make them available to youth by providing various vocational training opportunities.

He noted that the initiative targets interested youth holding high school certificates, adding that while the conditions for applying do not stipulate a maximum age limit, candidates between the ages of 18 and 30 are highly encouraged to apply.
