AMMAN — Arab Businessmen Federation (ABF) on Tuesday called for drawing strategic plans and programmes for cooperation between Arab countries and China.
ABF President Hamdi Tabbaa, during the 9th session of the China-Arab Businessmen Conference and the 7th Investment Seminar, highlighted the necessity of advancing the two sides’ cooperation in the fields of digital economy and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, as well as drew attention to the need of pushing towards investing in the digital infrastructure.
Tabbaa said that direct Chinese investments in Arab countries dropped by 30.2 per cent during the first half of 2020, to reach $640 million, noting that the volume declined due to the impact of the COVID pandemic.
The conference was co-organised by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the Union of Arab Chambers and the League of Arab States and the ABF.
