AMMAN — Amman Mayor Aqel Biltaji on Tuesday said the fact that 8,000 Jordanians have applied to work as sanitation workers is an indication that the “culture of shame” no longer influences Jordanians.
During a meeting on Tuesday with Mazen Maaytah, president of the General Federation of Jordanian Labour Unions, Biltaji said the Greater Amman Municipality gives special care to sanitation workers, noting that it approved a JD15 increase to their salaries in May this year and will disburse an additional JD15 raise at the beginning of 2015.
