2017 first quarter tourist numbers rise — Annab

AMMAN — The numbers of tourists rose during the first quarter of this year, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Lina Annab said on Sunday.

Annab said the total number of overnight and one-day tourists increase by 5.4 per cent compared to the same period last year, adding that visitors to Petra increased by 36 per cent, Wadi Rum by 110 per cent, Mount Nebo by 55 per cent, Madaba by 53 per cent, the Baptism Site by 21 per cent, Karak by 17 per cent and Jerash by 6 per cent, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
