AMMAN — Chief Islamic Justice Sheikh Abdul Hafez Rabtah said that the Chief Justice Department issued about 12,724 electronic family cards from the beginning of 2021 until the end of July.

The family cards allow those winning lawsuits to receive the amounts deserved without having to visit courts in the Kingdom.

Rabtah stressed that the department seeks to develop its operations and employ technologies to enable easy access to its services, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

He highlighted that such measures are now a necessity in light of the demand increases for services.

A total of JD38,163,828 was disbursed in cooperation with the Jordan Islamic Bank to those who won their lawsuits during the first seven months of 2021, through issuing 64,037 electronic family cards, he noted.

The total amount the convicts paid through the service until the end of the third quarter of 2021 amounted to approximately JD25,372,302, through 242,314 transactions.

Rabtah called on those who were fined large sums of money to pay through the electronic payment website, which is available 24 hours a day.

The Department of the Chief Justice, in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, is working to complete the digital transformation of its services. It has already completed a project to modernise 158 services, according to Petra.
