AMMAN — The Civil Status and Passport Department has issued 11,228 passports for Jerusalemites through the Sharia court in Jerusalem since launching the service in August, 2019.

Fahed Omoush, director general of the department, on Monday told the Jordan News Agency, Petra, that this procedure was made to enable Jerusalemites to renew their passports easily, support their resilience and protect the Arab identity of the holy city.

Omoush added that the Sharia court in Jerusalem receives passport applications and all other required documents necessary to renew passports.
