To be a good leader

Sep 16,2015 - Last updated at Sep 16,2015

It has been said that “leaders are great managers, but all managers are not good leaders.”

A primary reason for that might be the task undertaken at the workplace.

Some people may only go to work to do the task and do not relate with people, so the challenge is to become a great leader for other employees.

If one really wants to establish good relations with one’s subordinates or colleagues, one should know him/herself first, be cognisant and mindful on oneself and learn how to lead oneself before thinking of managing others.

To be in charge of oneself one needs intuition and adaptation. It is an attitude, not a process, that cannot be learned from a textbook or a formula.

Leadership is not a position, it is the quality of one’s attitude.
