Jordanians in South Africa’s Durban urged to exercise caution

AMMAN — The Foreign Ministry is maintaining contacts with Jordanians in Durban, through the Kingdom’s embassy in Pretoria, South Africa’s administrative capital, to check on their conditions.
Jordanians there have been advised to exercise caution and to avoid areas where acts of violence may occur.
They can call the embassy on 0027123468615 or its operations room on 0096265501444, in case of emergency.
Violent clashes broke out in Durban against foreigners around a week ago.

A total of 48 Jordanians were transferred from Yemen to Saudi Arabia, in a step to arrange their return to Jordan, an official at the Foreign Ministry said on Saturday.
The Foreign Ministry has set up plans that will respond to any scenarios to ensure the safety of Jordanians residing in Yemen, a ministry official said Thursday.
The government has so far evacuated 157 Jordanians from war-hit Yemen over the past couple of days, according to the Foreign Ministry.
