Five detained for possession of arms, hashish

AMMAN — Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) personnel, in cooperation with the Gendarmerie Department, have detained five suspects who were found in possession of weapons and three kilogrammes of hashish, the Public Security Department’s media centre announced Monday.

AND and Gendarmerie personnel made the arrest in a house raid in the Central Badia after tracking and monitoring the suspects’ activities.

A search of the house yielded six automatic weapons, two pistols, ammunition clips and three kilogrammes of hashish.

The five suspects were referred to the State Security Court.
