Ensour meets with Russian official

AMMAN — Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Tuesday met Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Ilyas Mohammed Umakhanov and underlined Jordan’s commitment to boost bilateral cooperation at all levels.

He cited the Kingdom’s reform efforts and the challenges it faces due to the regional situation, stressing that the Palestinian issue remains the core crisis the region is facing.

The premier reiterated the Kingdom’s stance in supporting a comprehensive political solution in Syria.

Also on Tuesday, Senate President Abdur-Ra’uf S. Rawabdeh met with Umakhanov and discussed ways to develop economic and parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

For his part, the Russian official invited Rawabdeh to visit Russia.
