Employees of northern municipalities demand higher salaries

IRBID — Scores of employees of northern municipalities protested in front of the premises of the Greater Irbid Municipality on Monday, demanding “better work conditions and improved salaries”.

Irbid Mayor Hussein Bani Hani met with the protesters and assured them that their demands will be taken into account, adding that they have not yet been implemented due to financial constraints.

A meeting will be held with the Municipal Affairs Ministry to discuss their demands, he said.
