Cabinet approves measures to build liquefied petroleum gas tanks in Aqaba

AMMAN — The Council of Ministers on Sunday approved several measures related to liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) storage tanks in Aqaba.

The decision pertains to the establishment of new tanks and investing in the ones owned by the private sector.

During a Cabinet meeting, the Council of Ministers approved cooperation on building new LPG tanks in Aqaba under several criteria, stressing the need to comply with best international practices.

The approved procedures are aimed at achieving the state’s strategic goals in mitigating the energy crisis and securing storage potentials.

Furthermore, the Cabinet approved a technical assistance agreement with the European Investment Bank on implementing a regional project supporting and establishing trade and transport routes.
