Customs department foils smuggling attempt

AMMAN — The Jordan Customs Department on Wednesday foiled an attempt at the Aqaba customs checkpoint to smuggle around 77,000 pellet guns and 437 pellet cartons into the country.

The contraband was seized during the search of a container whose content was declared as shoes.

The consignment was impounded and the case was referred to the concerned authorities.
