AMMAN — An average of 1.3 per cent of Jordanians over 50 suffer visual impairment, while the international rate is 0.58 per cent, ophthalmologists said on Saturday at a press conference to announce the activities of the 12th International Congress of the Jordanian Ophthalmological Society.

The May 6-9 congress is organised in collaboration with the European Society of Ophthalmology, the Middle East Africa Council of Ophthalmology and with the participation of the Jordanian Association of Optometrists.

Organisers said participants from 24 Arab and foreign countries will discuss eye diseases, surgeries and new diagnosis methods.
